What are blogs?

Blog is short for 'web log'. It is a type of website written by a person or group to share news, photos, links, and personal thoughts. Still not sure?

Examples of Class Blogs:

In some of these examples, the class blog functions as their class website. Some blogs have more student involvement than others.
A World of Wonder A 2nd grade class has their first blogging adventure.
Mr. Coley's Blog: This is a great example of all that can be done with a blog. This blog has 'everything'.
Mrs Harju's Class: This 2nd grade teacher does some creative things with her blog. Looks like she updates it weekly.
Mr. C's Class Blog This 5th grade blog shares information and video clips about what is going on in Mr Chamberlain's class. Notice the student blog links along the right side menu.
Risby's Roarer: This is his 5th grade class' blog.
Spanish Class Blog: This is an interactive blog for these Spanish students. Creative use!
KinderKids Classroom: This is a wonderful blog written by a Kindergarten teacher. Include photos and short videos that document learning.
Primary Preoccupation: This blog is written by a first grade teacher telling about her professional life. She also has a blog for her classroom and has her 1st graders write their own blogs.

Blogs Written By Teachers for Teachers:

A Second Grade Teacher's Blog: The name explains it all. This teacher often blogs about how she uses blogs with her students and as her classroom website.
HeyMister This blog is written as a reflection by an 8th grade LA teacher which he writes to connect with other teachers. It doesn't function as his class website.
High Techpectations Written by Lucy Gray, an educator from Chicago.
iLearn Technology by Kelly Tenkely There are lots of how-tos and links on this blog.
Larry Ferlazzo's Websites of the Day The author says "for teaching ESL, ELL, and EFL but there are lots of great links here for everybody.
The Whiteboard Blog This site has lots of tips and ideas for both the Promethean and SMARTBoard user.
My Languages by Isabelle Jones. This site was designed to support fellow language teachers but there are a lot of posts about education and technology in general that should be of interest to other educators.
